GM launched a new digital platform to sell Chevrolet vehicles in Brazil, the brand’s second largest market worldwide after the United States. The name of the digital sales tool is Chevrolet Marketplace, which allows the customer to perform the vehicle selection and purchase process online, and only visit the dealership to take a test drive and close the deal.
Chevrolet Marketplace was launched on the brand’s website in Brazil on June 1st, with more than 5,000 brand new and zero-mileage units available at dealerships. This new platform is part of Chevrolet’s car sales digitization strategy in the South American country. According to the brand, customers prefer to save time by completing the purchase process online instead of visiting the dealership.
“To meet the expectations of today’s consumer, we create customized channels and tools for each moment of the purchase journey,” said Digital Marketing Director of GM Brazil, Bruno Campos, in a statement. “The marketplace integrates a digital, multi-platform ecosystem, which starts by engaging our consumers through relevant and original content, leading to tools that facilitate a conscious and safe purchase,” he added.
With Chevrolet Marketplace, Brazilian consumers can browse through units available in dealership inventories, check out actual photos of the vehicles and even contact a sales agent via WhatsApp to start the negotiation.
This allows Chevrolet customers to start the purchase process more assertively and find and configure the desired vehicle without having to spend time researching and visiting dealerships. Shoppers must still head down to the dealership for a scheduled test drive, to finalize the paperwork and to take delivery of the vehicle.
The new Chevrolet Marketplace platform launched by GM Brazil was developed in association with MRM Brazil, an agency specializing in digital transformation transformation which completed the project through its MRM Commerce unit. According to the Bow Tie brand, the main objective of this new digital sales tool is to accelerate the purchase process, generate more qualified potential customers and increase dealer sales volume.
