Nearly a month after revealing new details about the next-generation Chevy Montana in the first episode of a web series dedicated to the model, GM has announced that Chevrolet‘s first unibody compact pickup will debut all-new connectivity technology.
The automaker published the second episode of the web series created by GM Brazil, showing the upcoming Chevy Montana’s progress during its final stage of development, revealing that it will have the most advanced and innovative connectivity technology in its segment. It will be the first vehicle based on the GM Global Emerging Markets (GEM) platform capable of receiving over-the-air updates for its electronic architecture and infotainment system.
“The new Chevy Montana will feature the most sophisticated connectivity system in the segment, which will be able to perform software updates remotely without having to visit the dealership,” said GM South America Cruz Alta Proving Ground Director in Brazil, Leandro Couto, in an official statement.
GM South America says that the next-generation Chevy Montana will feature a new infotainment system that “will be like an extension of the instrument panel.” We can only assume that the next Chevy Montana will use two side-by-side digital screens, such as in the recently introduced Chevy Tracker RS in China.
The most striking aspect of the 2023 Chevy Tracker RS’ new interior design is the two side-by-side 10.25-inch screens. Knowing that both vehicles will share the same architecture and many mechanical elements, and will be manufactured at the same GM Plant in Brazil, the upcoming Chevy Montana could also adopt this same wide horizontal display.
The Chevy Montana’s final development phase is moving forward at full speed at GM South America’s Campo de Pruebas de Cruz Alta proving ground, the largest automotive development center in the southern hemisphere with 17 tracks in different areas and seven state-of-the-art laboratories. These impressive facilities are located on a surface equivalent to 1,360 soccer fields. The compact pickup will debut in early 2023 and be manufactured at the GM plant in São Caetano do Sul in Brazil.

Why don’t they bring the Montana to the USA
The Pontiac minivan of the same name?
Why do they use a futuristic dash display and mount it in a cheap looking enclosure
Looks like they had to find a way to downgrade the dash.
Can we not have digital gauges and color displays built into the dash instead of cheap looking add ons
So basically the Montana is GM’s version of the Hyundai Santa Cruz that’s already for sale in North America.
