New Chevy Tracker RS Pre-Orders Start In China

SAIC-GM, General Motors’ main joint venture in China, began pre-sales of the all-new Chevy Tracker RS, which made its world debut in the Asian country in April. The automaker is already accepting orders for Chevrolet‘s performance-focused small crossover, which will also become the most powerful model in its segment.

The pre-order period for the 2023 Chevy Tracker RS will be open until May 31st, the date chosen for its official launch in the Chinese market. For an advance payment of 599 Yuan ($90), a starter package is available for customers who wish to finance the vehicle, who will also have access to a few special benefits.

As we’ve previously reported, the highlight of the all-new Chevy Tracker RS is its turbocharged 1.5L Ecotec four-cylinder engine that delivers class-leading 181 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, matched to a new continuously variable automatic transmission that has been revised for improved performance. With this engine, the Chevy Tracker RS becomes the most powerful subcompact utility vehicle in the brand’s history.

In addition, the 2023 Chevy Tracker RS introduces a new interior design with a horizontal dashboard panel housing two side-by-side 10.25-inch screens. These attributes give the crossover better appeal with the latest connectivity and technology solutions.

Speaking of technology, the 2023 Chevy Tracker RS has a new, more advanced operating system that allows for touch, gesture, and voice control. This new system is compatible with the main virtual assistants and also integrates wireless Apple CarPlay, in addition to over-the-air updates. It also offers a long list of driver assistance and advanced safety features.

The new Chevy Tracker RS will go on sale in late May throughout Chevrolet’s dealership network in China, the only country confirmed to sell the sportier version of the crossover so far. This RS variant will strengthen the Tracker’s position in the world’s largest automotive market and will be the nameplate’s range-topping trim level, above the current Redline and LT.
