Just hours after the official unveiling of the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado and the world debut of the first 2022 Silverado ZR2 in Detroit, General Motors announced the massive new Silverado upgrade in Middle East. The automaker confirmed that both the standard model and the all-new 2022 Silverado ZR2 will be introduced in the middle of next year in Southwest Asian countries.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado is the fourth-generation model’s mid-cycle update, which focused on improving the two most dissonant aspects of the initial version introduced for the 2019 model year: the controversial front design and the lackluster interior. Both elements feature a notable change in the 2022 Silverado, especially the cabin redesign, while the ZR2 version becomes Chevrolet‘s new flagship off-road pickup.
“The Silverado is an icon of motoring culture in the Middle East, with a passionate fan base,” said Chief Marketing Officer, GM Africa & Middle East, Sharon Nishi, in a statement. “The new 2022 Silverado model will not only meet the demands of our customers, but surpass them, giving customers more choice, a more refined design and new technology options. And with the introduction of the first-ever, off-road focused ZR2 trim, we’ll also be giving customers more off-road adrenaline than ever before,” she added.
In addition to the new front fascia, which for the first time ditches the pickup’s signature horizontal split headlight design, the 2022 Chevy Silverado’s highlight change is the completely redesigned cabin from the LT trim level onwards. The previous vertically arranged dash is replaced by a new one with more horizontal lines, which includes a large 13.4-inch touchscreen and a massive digital instrument panel compatible with the latest Google built-in solutions.
As for the new 2022 Chevy Silverado ZR2, it represents the latest addition to the Bow Tie brand’s successful line of off-road trucks, which includes the legendary Z71 trim and acclaimed Trail Boss trim that come factory-lifted. The model adopts a more imposing and sinister appearance, as well as a complete package of functional improvements that elevate the pickup’s off-road performance to an unprecedented level.
The refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado and the new ZR2 off-road variant will arrive in Chevrolet dealerships in the Middle East during the summer of 2022, just a couple of months after going on sale in the United States and Canada next spring. As has been the case for past generations of the Silverado, the new 2022 line is expected to be offered in the region in Regular Cab and Double Cab configurations.

The should have kept the GMT800 interior, with some GMT 900 seats, and kept the 2021 grill…and bring back the 8.1.
I actually can’t dissagree with you. The 8.1 with some updates like cylinder deactivation wouldn’t be such a gas guzzler, and vvt would be a monster. This update reminds me sa little of the gmt 800 interior.
Now that you mention it the ’22 update interior really does look like a modern take on GMT 800 with it’s layout and horizontal theme.
I’m working on building a 640 cube stroker to drop into a GMT800 Tahoe. Looking at 10:1 compression and maybe 5 or so PSI boost. That could probably use some cylinder deactivation once in a while,
I like the ’22 updated interior, but a modern version of the 8.1 for the HD’s would be awesome. I agree that the GMT 900 had comfortable seats.
Will the Middle East get this in a RCSB like they get the trail boss?
Hello Deivis, will the SWB two door will be again available as a ME only version?
Will G M produce any crew cab 2 wheel drives, v-6 R S T ?
All I am wanting is the Regular Cab with the short or standard bed. NOT THE LONG BED. Don’t they sell these to the Middle East?
They do, GM also sell it in Mexico.
Why will they not sell them in the US? Am I missing something simple here?
Probably GM think the numbers are not appealing. But do Mexican models comply with latest emission Tier ? I wonder if GM could have them shipped from there, or, maybe, local production is already sold or booked up.
WOW? GM brings out a new truck and carries over the interior and everyone bitches about it. They update the interior of the SUV’s and everyone appears to approve, they restyle the trucks to match and…
Every One Bitches?
Why will they not sell them in the US? Am I missing something simple here?
Never got a reason from gm. Just speculation on this forum. Make rcsb available by order only then there won’t be any unspoken for at year end. I’d wait months to order what I wanted, if I can get it.
They look great.. Now GM needs to offer a high end version of the single cab..
