2021 Chevrolet Tahoe And Suburban Launch In Chile

General Motors has launched the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban in Chile, the country with the fastest-growing automotive market in South America. With the launch, GM’s Chilean subsidiary celebrates the completion of a challenging year with the revival of Chevrolet‘s full-size SUVs, which serve as the brand’s flagships in the country.

With the launch, Chile becomes one of the few markets in the region where GM offers both the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and the Suburban concurrently. Currently, the Tahoe is offered in Chile, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, while the Suburban is only offered in Chile, Peru and Bolivia.

“The all-New Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban are versatile and advanced, with a larger and more spacious cabin, offering a better ride with the efficiency and technology that customers need,” reads a press release from GM Chile, translated from Spanish by GM Authority . “It is a perfect SUV for all roads, with increased capacity, performance and a bold design that is hard to ignore,” adds the automaker.

The new Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban will be available in Chile exclusively in the Z71 trim level, at least at launch. This model features greater off-road capabilities and includes a high level of standard features, such as five high-resolution screens, a panoramic roof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, plus a 360-degree camera system.

Like in other markets, the Chilean-market 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 and Suburban Z71 are equipped with the naturally-aspirated 5.3L L84 V8 engine rated at a maximum of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, mated to the 10-speed GM automatic transmission. In addition, both models come standard with an Autotrac 4×4 drive system that includes a transfer case plus drive modes for different types of terrain.

The all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban began to arrive at the Chevrolet Chile dealer network during the second half of December. The SUVs carry a comprehensive 5-year / 120,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first). The vehicles are offered in nine exterior colors.

For the time being, both the Tahoe and Suburban are offered in a single version for Chilean customers, with the following suggested prices:

  • 2021 Tahoe Z71: 47,990,000 CLP, or about $67,450 USD at the current exchange rate
  • 2021 Suburban Z71: 51,490,000 CLP, or about $72,370 USD at the current exchange rate

  1. Does anyone think GM will make the necessary modifications to the Z71 Tahoe to allow for the installation of the 3.0 Diesel engine?
