Last month, GM Authority reported on the launch of the refreshed, international-market 2021 Chevrolet Colorado in Ecuador – the first country in the world to receive the updated model with the Colorado nameplate after its debut as the Chevrolet S10 in Brazil. Now, General Motors is expanding the reach of the 2021 Brazilian-born Colorado in Latin America with the official launch of the midsize pickup in Chile.
The automaker has just introduced the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado in the Chilean market, expanding the pickup’s trim level range and adding distinctive features to further bolster the success the nameplate has had since its arrival in the South American country in mid-2018. The refreshed 2021 Colorado particularly stands out as the most powerful model in its category, and the first to offer an on-board Wi-Fi hotspot to maximize connectivity.
“The new Colorado is designed to continue dominating off-road driving, with a product that has great capabilities in safety, technology and power for our customers,” said Sales Director of GM Chile, Gustavo Colossi, in an official press release. “It also introduces innovative features in the local pickup category that make it stand out from its direct competitors,” he added.
In addition to the existing LTZ and High Country trims, the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado gets a new entry-level LT variant in Chile. All versions are equipped as standard with the turbo-diesel 2.8L XLD28 I-4 engine that generates 200 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The Duramax engine can be matched to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The standard feature list is enhanced with the latest-generation infotainment system that includes an eight-inch touchscreen, the OnStar telematics system, six airbags, electronic stability control and traction control, cruise control and hill start assist. The High Country version innovates with the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, wireless phone charging, Automatic Braking and Lane Keep Assist.
The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado is already on sale in Chile, offered exclusively in Crew Cab configuration and with a total of seven paint colors: White, Silver Metallic, Black, Dark Blue Metallic, Dark Graphite, Gray Shadow Metallic and Bordeaux Wine Metallic. Over the course of November, the refreshed 2021 Colorado manufactured at the GM São José dos Campos plant in Brazil will also arrive in Colombia, followed by Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Honduras.
The suggested prices of the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado in the Chilean market are the following:
- 2021 Colorado LT Manual: 18,390,000 CLP (about $24,360 USD at the current exchange rate)
- 2021 Colorado LT Automatic: 18,990,000 CLP ($25,155 USD)
- 2021 Colorado LTZ: 22,290,000 CLP ($29,560 USD)
- 2021 Colorado High Country: 24,190,000 CLP ($32,050 USD)

why not offer 6ft body on ZR2
dont know why you people stopped shipping the colarado to australia there is a lot of intrest over hear and they are a bloody good ute
Corporate decisions many times over cannot be comprehended all the time but it must be more than just shipping the truck to AU. One problem is AU insistence that all vehicles must be right handed and to engineer, produced, get safety standards tested plus the expected number of sales it probably not worth the profit or lack of profit. This is obvious stuff but there is more to it than we’ll ever know.
The refresh looks good but the interior(?), GM has to get the interiors refreshed each time the exterior is done.
THIS IS the truck that GM SHOULD be bringing to the North American market!! A 200 HP Duramax diesel as the BASE engine! THIS is the truck that I want buy!!! If the rumors are true regarding what GM has planned for the Colorado/Canyon, the next generation will FAIL MISERABLY!!!
