GMC Partners With UAE Based Motocross Pro For Another Year

Dubai-born motocross professional Mohammad Al Balooshi will continue to serve as a brand ambassador for GMC Middle East in 2020.

The athlete has signed a new contract with GMC Middle East that will see him continue to promote the brand during his two-wheel racing endeavors throughout 2020. Al Balooshi first signed on with GMC as a brand ambassador at the beginning of last year.

“In 2019, Mohammed Al Balooshi proved to be an exceptional brand ambassador for us in the region where we have so much history and presence, making the decision to work with him in 2020 an easy one for us to make and we are very excited to see what the new year will bring,” GM Middle East chief marketing officer, Kelly MacDonald, said in a prepared statement.

Al Balooshi competes in various off-road racing series and events, including the Dakar Rally, and was the 2018 FIM Bajas World Cup champion. He was also the only Arab to reach the finish line at the 2019 Dakar Rally and was previously named the Best Athlete in the UAE by HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

“I’m truly honored to get the chance to be a GMC brand ambassador in the Middle East again this year,” Al-Balooshi said. “Our partnership goes much further than just me being a face of the brand as we both share the desire to bring change to our beloved region and challenge ourselves to ensure we reach our desired goals – whether that is raising the bar in the automotive industry or getting youngsters into the motocross world.”

The Middle East is an important market for GM’s truck business, with the automaker even offering exclusive models in the region, like the GMC Sierra AT4 Regular Cab and Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss Regular Cab. It is also the only market outside of North America where the GMC brand is sold.
