We’ve already shared all kinds of information about the upcoming 2020 GM HD trucks, including the revamped gasoline engine, integrated box-side step, and spy shots galore. And now, we just got our hands on the very first pictures of the 2020 GMC Sierra HD in the dual rear wheel (dually) body style.
The photos show the sculpted design applied to the dually body style, with very wide body panels over the rear wheel wells. The wide-body design continues to incorporate the side box step ahead of the rear wheels, providing convenient access to the box from the side of the truck.
The shots also give us an idea of the position of the integrated side step on models with longer beds: the integrated side step will always be placed at the front-most corner of the rear box, regardless of bed length.
Notably, the 2020 GMC Sierra HD also has tri-fold wheel wells. The design was initially introduced on the HD’s smaller brother – the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500.
Expect the all-new, 2020 GMC Sierra HD to ride on the new GM T1 platform, feature an updated powertrain lineup (with an all-new gasoline engine), and go on sale in the middle of the 2019 calendar year as a 2020 model year vehicle.

Sweet! The GMC Dually finally gets the wheel well lip liner on the rear, unlike the current- generation trucks.
However, it doesn’t look like it has the MultiPro gate…
I like the looks of the big truck , I just wished they offered it , with straight front axle front suspension, at list on the one ton model, Like the one on under the class 4 and 5 .
Thank goodness it doesn’t look like the half tons especially the Chevy. This truck still looks like a GM.
I JUST HOPE IT’S SOMETHING EXCITING ABOUT IT WE ALREADY KNOW THE INTERIOR SUCKS ALEX LUFT THINKS IT WAS A GOOD IDEA GM GAVE THESE TRUCKS SUCH A LACKLUSTER INTERIOR AS A BIG SILVERADO FAN I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ACT LIKE ITS NO COMPETITION OUT THERE DON’T GM KNOW THE COMPETITION IS WINNING I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT THESE HD’S ARE GOING TO BE BUT MARK MY WORD GM FANS ARE GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED AN FORD AN RAM fans ARE GOING TO BE LAUGHING
Take the caps lock off, other than that, I mostly agree with you.
I would prefer a lockable exterior storage box to the “step up front access to the box” and would pay extra for that – to store tow stuff, for example. As far as the interior goes I hate that you can’t get the highest trim levels with bench seats. The cabin feels like a prison in the new 1500 versions. If I do opt to buy one of these (I prefer the Duramax diesel to the other offerings) I would like to find someone to do a custom interior for me – relocate the electronics in the console and replace with a bench, paint over shiny aluminum colored parts in interior that shine in my eyes, remove the extra large front pillar grab bars that don’t do much for me but stick in my face.
