GMC flew under the radar during the 2017 Dubai Motor Show, but it actually presented a pretty significant concept. GMC debuted the GMC Sierra Desert Fox concept to celebrate the special edition’s 40th anniversary.
For those who may not recall, the Desert Fox Jimmy debuted in 1977 and featured a unique color scheme and additional off-road equipment. The 2018 GMC Sierra Desert Fox follows the formula with an exterior design that recalls the original and a host of GM accessories. They include a sports bar, performance exhaust system and LED roof lights. Additional concept parts such as off-road front and rear bumpers, Baja style fenders, desert terrain tires, beadlock wheels and a front recovery winch find their way onto the Desert Fox as well.
Frankly, it’s a pretty great looking truck and a wonderful change of pace from every Midnight Edition truck under the sun. GMC didn’t mention if the Sierra Desert Fox previews a special edition truck for the future, but we’d love to see such a package make its way to production.

Dear GMC,
Please make this truck.

1980 is calling again?
The truck would be easy to do as it is all off the shelf things.
But lose this stripe and come up with something more in this century.
Where do you park the thing? Guess wherever you want?
I would much rather see a two tone paint vs the rainbow stripe.
These graphics look dated and generally go to hell in ten years unless garaged.
Bring back a silver and burgundy like Rockford or tan and brown like the Fall a guy if you want retro.
I saw a red and gray metallic Ford last week. While not a Ford fan it was a good looking truck.
Yup two tone has been missing. I love the Caribou two tone on the F150. Actually a Caribou brown truck with two tone black accent would be my choice for 2019 Silverado
