Hennessey Performance Engineering recently uploaded this video of the HPE550 Cadillac ATS-V undergoing acceleration testing. But sadly, all we can say with certainty is that the car “looks pretty fast,” as no observed acceleration figures are provided.
That said, Hennessey is claiming 453 horsepower at the rear wheels, which ought to be more than apt to grant the HPE550 ATS-V the capacity for some brutal acceleration. It pulls up to 100 with apparent ease, and seems to have enough oomph to keep on chugging along. But then, the pull stops at about 113 miles per hour, so we don’t know what the new top speed is, either.
You wouldn’t necessarily be wrong in calling this video a gimmick intended to attract the sort of well-heeled Cadillac fans who actually have the means to order this upgrade for their ATS-Vs. In any case, it’s still enjoyable to watch. Click play to see it for yourself.
