2018 Buick Enclave Expected To Show Face At 2017 New York Auto Show

The Buick Enclave was introduced as the brand’s renaissance vehicle, marking a new chapter for the brand in North America. Since then, the Enclave seems to have accomplished its mission, as the brand certainly has made headway in both reliability and positive perceptions.

However, saying the Enclave is a tad long in the tooth is an understatement, knowing the current model has been relatively unchanged since 2008. Buick has let is slip that an all-new, second-generation 2018 Buick Enclave is coming, though. And it’s coming very soon.

Buick pegs the 2017 New York Auto Show as the place we will see the completely redesigned 2018 Enclave, which will share the same platform as the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. The new Traverse, revealed this week at the 2017 North American International Auto Show, offers a few clues as to what we may see from a new Enclave as well.

We’d also expect the 2018 Enclave will also usher in Buick’s Avenir sub-brand, since crossovers are the hot thing at the moment. Avenir promises exclusive interior and exterior cues and even greater luxury.

  1. I thought we would see the new Regal in New York. Is it possible that they would unveil two cars, or will Regal be pushed off?

    1. Nothing wrong with two debuts. Creates a lot of buzz….

    2. I hope they do although I feel like Buick is going to do the same thing the rest of the world is doing and is going to be focused on Crossovers and SUVs for a while.

      1. I could definitely see Buick do both the Enclave and the new Regal which is due for a refresh plus Regal sales have done relatively well.

      1. Buick has been doing some good things for the last 3-4 years and it is starting to pay off for them.

  4. Unless Regal is popping up on Chicago…. Or else the Regal could show the face either at a private event or if not Los Angeles

  5. As much as the latest GM CUV/SUV models have impressed me, I’m expecting to be blown away by the next Enclave! The biggest key has to be how they style it! When the original Enclave debuted, the styling was a big factor in many choosing to purchase one. The next one has to raise the stakes MUCH higher to fend off potential competition from the already very nice 2018 Traverse! (But it can’t be too nice, as it’ll step on the toes of the upcoming Cadillac version!)

  6. comedy ahhaa. Is the GM competes only within the company. buick can be better than a Cadillac. cadillac or you will not be better than the Chevrolet. fuk yourself. comedy circus.
VAG konsern is all strong products.
GM kills himself when he competes only within the company siseselt.gm has also seen the wrath of the various products. or different products lovers hate each other internally gm.

    1. VAG divisions also compete as well.
      Do not think otherwise.

Healthy competition, wherever it comes from, is good for a company.

Cadillac is not in direct competition with Buick. They are after different clients for the most part.

      Seriously, go back to school.

  7. I hope it is detailed properly too compete the competition , and I hope it is assembled in AMERICA . we were interested in the Envision but because it is assembled in CHINA it wouldn’t be in our garage .

    1. Yes, I understand about the Envision. We went as far as driving one. The cabin was very cramped, and the SUV didn’t ride like a Buick. We bought a 2016 Enclave that had just been traded in. The people that traded the Enclave in, buys a new Enclave every year. I am hoping the New Enclave will be made in America!

      1. I would suspect the Envision is about as the same size as the terrain width wise. For me it would be a nice upgrade from the terrain just because there’s no air vents for the terrain at the back
