Cadillac Names Christian Soemmer As Managing Director For Middle East Operations

Cadillac has a new man in charge for its Middle East operations in Christian Soemmer. Soemmer succeeds Felix Weller, who transitioned to a leading role for Cadillac of Europe.

“We are pleased to have someone of Christian’s caliber and expertise on board to lead Cadillac’s strong vision for this region,” said Mario A. Spangenberg, President and Managing Director for General Motors Africa and Middle East.

Soemmer comes from seven years of leading Audi Middle East, where he most recently served as sales director. His background consists of many premium automotive brands after the German national began his career with Daimler AG.

He will be in charge of further defining the Cadillac brand in the Middle East, specifically positioning Cadillac as a sophisticated brand for those looking into something different.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of Cadillac,” said Soemmer.

“We’re breaking the mold to move beyond the boundaries of what an automaker traditionally is, to become a true luxury lifestyle brand. It is a daring play, but one we are taking very seriously.”

“Our focus for our Middle East markets is on having a genuine connection with those who look to set themselves apart, to drive something bold and sophisticated, and to have a great customer experience,” he added.
