Hot Rod Builds A Low-Budget 1979 Chevrolet Camaro: Video

If you’re a do-it-yourself kind of person, get ready for the king of DIY. Hot Rod Garage has undertaken a cheap speed project, and it features an $800 1979 Chevrolet Camaro.

The purpose? Get the 1979 Camaro running in the cheapest way possible. That means plenty of Craigslist scouring, low-end parts and plenty of things that shouldn’t match, but somehow do.

It’s incredible to see what the guys find in order to bring the 1979 Camaro back to life. It may not be pretty, but in the end, the 1979 Camaro fires up, runs, idles and doesn’t produce any sort of foul odor or smoke. Success.

In total, the entire build, including the Camaro itself, cost only $4,942. If that’s not cheap speed, we don’t know what is. Check the episode out for yourself right up above.

  1. Funny how they call that cheap speed. Sorry but almost $5000 is alot of money for a POS that will most likely break down. I can buy a used car for less than that and do absolutely nothing to it.
