It’s tough when we want to exercise what our vehicles are capable of. Street racing seems like the easy answer, rather than waiting for one night a week, and paying an entrance fee to suit up at a local track. But, let this story be a reminder to always play it safe.
According to San Antonio News, one man has lost his life in a street racing incident that took place in San Antonio, Texas. Police say the C6 Corvette driver encountered an unidentified vehicle at a local traffic light. Around 60-75 mph, the C6 Corvette driver lost control of the vehicle, and slammed into a utility poll, killing him instantly. First responders said it’s likely the driver died on impact.
The secondary vehicle involved in the race has not been identified yet, and remains at large.
Please, seek out proper instruction on how to handle a vehicle at any magnitude, especially when commanding respect for a vehicle like the Corvette.
