Danny Popp Wins Second Consecutive OPTIMA Championship

The OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Championship is a time for drivers to shine during the SEMA Show, and Danny Popp displayed his skills for the second year in a row. Popp took home the championship in his 2003 C5 Corvette Z06, making for his second consecutive win.

“We put in a lot of work and preparation to get here, and it’s incredible to get results not only for me and my team, but also for the sponsors,” Popp said.

Not only is this Popp’s second-consecutive win, a first for the championship, but it marks his third win of the championship, the first driver ever to do so.

“Each year the participants and their vehicles continue to push the limits and amaze us with the drive and passion they bring to the Invitational,” said Cam Douglass, marketing director at OPTIMA Batteries. “It reassures us of the reasons we created this event eight years ago: see what the incredible cars from garages across the country and the SEMA show floor can really do using the show’s top-notch, high performance parts.”

The OPTIMA Championship will be broadcast on November 20 on MAVTV at 8:00 p.m Eastern time for those looking to catch the action.
