Cadillac has officially begun offering a new high-performance brake upgrade package on the 2016 ATS Sedan. First discovered by GM Authority months ago, the $1,945 option is called V-Sport Red Brake Caliper, Slotted Rotor and Pad Upgrade Package, the $1,945 option is “designed to enhance brake performance under high performance or track driving conditions”, according to Cadillac.
The system replaces the stock rotors, calipers and brake pads of the ATS brake system with slotted rotors and red calipers that offer “greater resistance to warping and taper wear, reduced operating temperatures in track operating conditions, and increased fade resistance compared to the standard rotors of the ATS.”
At the time of this writing, Cadillac doesn’t offer the V-Sport brake package as a Cadillac accessory, though we expect this to change in the near future.
In addition, the V-Sport brake package is offered alongside the existing slotted brake rotor and pad upgrade package for the ATS. The existing package is priced at $1,190 and has an identical description as the V-Sport package, only without the red brake calipers.
The GM Authority Take
To us, the more performance options and accessories Cadillac offers, the merrier. Especially on something as dynamic as the ATS. We expect this package to make its way to the ATS Coupe as well as become as an official Cadillac accessory shortly.
That said, here’s to hoping that this V-Sport brake package is just one of the items in store for the much-anticipated ATS V-Sport model.

the ATS looks dull and boring
You are the only idiot who thinks so.
And if you’re saying that based on the photo above, then I hope you realize it’s a configurator rendering.
Ah what am I saying? Go look at one in real life. Have you seen one?
Are the red brake calipers just the baseline two piece calipers painted red or are they a one piece caliper upgrade? How many pistons are in the calipers? Am just wondering what the improvements really are. Slotted rotors only help a bit with pad feel and bite, they do not necessarily improve braking performance. Are the slotted rotors just the baseline rotors with slots in them or are they larger in diameter or thicker? Do the new pads have increased dust generation? Thanks.
I’ve seen the ATS in person….it just look fat and boring and slab-sided to me……..you can compare the Elmeraj and the ATS….I bet the Elmeraj look ten times better than the ATS/CTS.
Rye you are an idiot . I own a red ATS 2016 fully equipped and EVERYWHERE I go , and I mean EVERYWHERE, I get nothing but compliments on my beautiful car. By Men, and Women of all ages. So sorry to burst your male ego bubble But your assessment of the ATS is all WRONG.
