Industry analysts originally pegged the 2017 Cadillac XT5 crossover to debut earlier this year at the 2015 New York International Auto Show. Instead, N-Y-C became all about the full-size C-T-6 sedan.
So with Cadillac’s official statement pegging the 2017 XT5 for an early 2016 release, the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show is the perfect opportunity to officially take the wraps off the Cadillac SRX replacement. Or so we though. But we were wrong again, since Cadillac has announced the 2017 XT5 will actually make its world debut at the 2015 Dubai Motor Show, an important market for Cadillac going forward.
Though we’ve plenty of unconfirmed information on the XT5, little is officially confirmed about the crossover. And, of course, there is also the three photos of the vehicle revealed earlier this month. What we do know is that it will ride on the C1XX platform, that powertrain specifications remain a close-kept secret, and that it will be “a computer on wheels” with the technology tacked up to the CUV.
Although the 2017 XT5 will officially show face at the Dubai show running November 10-14, you bet Cadillac will bring it to Los Angeles shortly after, representing the first look for Americans at the luxury crossover.

Dubai is an interesting location to introduce a new car of any type; but hopefully Cadillac’s SRX replacement will have a V variant in the form of an optional LF4 455 horsepower twin-turbo 3.6L DOHC-4v V6.
omegatalon,
As niche, and kind of cool, as that would be, Cadillac already stated an XT5-V isn’t going to happen. But, do expect an XT5 Vsport model!
Cheers,
Sean
Dubai is a dubious location for a product launch of this magnitude but maybe they are trying to bolster their brand awareness there.
Middle East sales accounts for about 4000 units per month which is significant but hardly world beating.
Dubai is host to the Dubai Shopping Festival in January- a month-long, over the top sales event that attracts thousands from all over EMEA for ‘deals’.
I suspect that’s what’s driving this. Not a lot of auto sales, but a lot of exposure. It’s all kind of Vegas-y, heavy on the glitz, but without the gambling.
I still think this car is ugly as hell.. I hope it sells though
Just saw the official release photos from cadillac with the front lit up.. the front view Cadillac posted to FB looks alot better
The styling isn’t for everyone but it is not offensive so I have no doubt it will sell better than the current generation.
