Whether it’s Men’s Health; Esquire; Cosmopolitan; or the aptly titled Life & Style, there is no shortage of lifestyle magazines currently available on U.S. newsstands.
Now, Chevrolet has decided to leap into the crowded waters with the launch of its own lifestyle magazine, called New Roads. While it won’t compete directly with the likes of the aforementioned mags, it will still have to vie for the attention of readers just the same.
So, what is New Roads about, exactly?
“A magazine for Chevrolet owners…and what they are interested in,” writes Brian Sweeney, U.S. President of Chevrolet, in the inaugural issue. “Ultimately, we built this magazine around the things we and Chevrolet hold in common. Whether it was design, technology, safety and quality, performance or value, you bought a Chevrolet for a reason.”
The magazine fuses car content–like a track test of the new 2015 Corvette Z06 and a preview of the upcoming Chevrolet Bolt – with other staples of the lifestyle magazine, like the familiar home-renovation-on-a-budget piece or the ever-popular ‘spring grilling guide’.
You can also find interviews with Pam Fletcher, Chevrolet Volt engineer, as well as a brief ‘Owner’ piece featuring Super Bowl star Malcolm Butler.
While it’s obvious the magazine – which is currently available online – is a product of Chevrolet’s marketing department, New Roads does an admirable job in not baking too much Chevy-specific content into the pie.
The photography is first-rate and up-to-the-minute articles like “Can you really cut out cable?” show that Chevy has put some thought into what readers want to see.
Overall, New Roads looks like a great way for Chevy to keep owners up to date, without being too in-your-face about it.

Looks nicely done. I wonder if they plan to send print copies to dealerships for their service waiting areas.
It is nicely done. A quality piece if you ask me. I know because I got one in the mail and I like it.
I recieved your new magizene yesterday . It had a write up about grilling . It said to go to chevrolet.com/newroads to get great grilling recipes. I have not found any recipes; so where are they???
It might serve Chevroletl customers better to improve the quality of their fluid lines, (brake, fuel, transmission) than spend money on a promotional campaign.
I have been searching to find out where the photo was taken of the road with the sharp “hairpin” turn. I couldn’t find a photo credit or any information that may help me find that road. anyone know where it was taken?!? thanks.
I also was looking for the recipes that was in the book and I could not find them either!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are they at?????
Where are the grilling recipes?
Dear Mr Sweeney
You have a exceedingly large amount of nerve setting up current Chevrolet designs to be anything resembling iconic !.I unfortunately own a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic LT — .This is a four-seat auto which can comfortably carry two adults and possibly two or three SMALL CHILDREN of normal sizes. .One can pretty well count on bumping his head and/or shoulders on the door opening while entering/exiting the front seat — even my 5’2″ wife has trouble there.. The dashboard deck is fabricated of a molded semi-reflective material which creates an image on the windshield when the vehicle is headed toward the sun, seriously degrading the forward vision of the driver..The front headrests are just annoying and tiresome (hardly worth mentioning in THIS context of automotive misery) while the rear ones seriously degrade rear vision. .The trunk latch engages with an arm reaching downward from the edge of the lid — so positioned such that when the lid is open, the arm falls out of the ordinary line of vision, but exactly at forehead level for an average male person — I have the bruises to show for it..”The trunk lid almost invariably unlatches and pops open when the vehicle is remotely unlocked — especially after one is underway. .”Iconic Design” — Well, hardly — “Maniac Design” would be a better term for it ! ! ! .I am so, so sorry to own this vehicle : Never, NEVER again ! ! !
I purchased a new chevrolet silverado september 2015 at hubler chevrolet in Indianapolis Indiana. I have purchased 4 brand new vehicles from them in the past 20 years and the only place I have ever purchased a new vehicle. I traded in a 1996 silverado I bought new from there!! It was in perfect condition I wanted a 4×4 truck and have waited A long time to get one. I traded in my 1996 the new car sales manager told me they would give me 2500 for my trade LIE#1 They only gave me 1500!!! The new car sales manager told me before I purchased the new truck he would put new all terrain tires on the new 4×4 LIE#2!!! He has not and will not put new tires on the new 4×4!!! The new car sales manager told me before I purchased the new truck he would have a bed liner installed LIE#3 He has not and will not install a bed liner!!! The sales person and the window sticker advertise this new truck to get 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway!! LIE#4 This new truck gets 14 mpg city and 18 mpg highway!!! The sales person could not find the original second set of keys to a brand new truck I was told they would give me the second set of keys!! LIE#5!! After two weeks and two trips and an hour at the dealership I did get a duplicate key!!! The sales person told me this new truck has ON SCREEN MAPS AND NAVIGATION!!! LIE# 6!! This new truck has developed a very very loud annoying and embarrassing ticking noise The new truck did not have any ticking noise when I test drove it! I would not have even test drove a vehicle that made this noise and DEFINITELY would not have purchased a truck that made this noise !!! I took it to the service department and was told the noise is normal!!! LIE#7!! This truck nor any trucks I test drove made this noise and should not make this noise they told me the noise is the fuel injection !!! And now the transmission is not shifting properly I took the truck to service they told me the shifting is normal!! LIE#8!! This truck shifted like it should until 4700 miles and then it started to shift improperly rough and not smoothly.. I have been to the dealership to talk to the owners but they are never there!! I have called and tried to talk to the owners and no return calls!!! I have sent the owners e mails letting them know how many lies I have been told and how unhappy and dissatisfied I am but they do not care!! I have even sent the owners a letter and no response!!! I have called chevrolet headquarters and they do not care if a loyal customer is unhappy or dissatisfied!!! I just tell everyone one i know including family friends co workers and even people I do not know! I tell everybody about the really bad experience I have had and am having and all the lies. I have owned chevrolets my entire life and have been very loyal this is how I get treated after purchasing a new very expensive truck

I am not interested in the Chevrolet new roads magazine, please remove me from your mailing list.
Thanks in advance.
Recently received the “New Roads” magazine but was shocked that I could not read it as
the pages were cut in half and each page contained information from two pages.
A great disapointment and waste of material not readable.
How do I contact about your support of OZY? Also does this mean you now support everything that OZY supports? Who can I contact to get my questions answered? When you say your support change what does that mean? Do you support the destruction of our democracy? Do you support judging people by the color of their skin.? If you fully support OZY these are important questions you need to answer.
Agree with Charles
Appalled.
Racists propaganda.
Wish I didnt own a chevrolet or a gm.
I like the magazine but why advertise when you can’t get a vehicle. I think someone is missing the boat and it should start from the top!!!
