Although the Cadillac XTS will not see a second generation, the Epsilon II-based full-size sedan is getting some updates and changes for the 2016 model year.
To start, the 2016 Cadillac XTS does away with four exterior colors, including Cocoa Bronze Metallic, Crystal Red Tintcoat, White Diamond Tricot, and Black Diamond Tricoat; three new colors are added to the palette, including Red Passion Tintcoat, Crystal White Tricoat, and Stellar Black Metallic. All three are extra-charge colors not available at the start of production.
Since the XTS hasn’t received the new wreathe-less Cadillac badging yet, the 2016 XTS adds the Cadillac crest badging. Meanwhile, the Platinum Collection XTS gets a new grille design, with the sport grille standard across all XTS Collections except for Platinum.
Rounding out the changes to the 2016 Cadillac XTS are a bevy of technology updates. To start, 2016 XTS gains Surround Vision, Wireless (inductive) Charging, and updates to the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) infotainment system that includes improved system speed and performance, faster and more accurate map loading and voice command execution, faster service reprogramming, and Bluetooth Media browsing. Oh, and the SD card slot is no longer part of the CUE system. In addition, the Driver Awareness Package now includes Surround Vision, the up-level 8-inch cluster features a new appearance, and the XTS Platinum features 22-way adjustability and massage feature as standard equipment.

Would like to see it get 4G(LTE), and instead of killing it, keep it in the Livery Service with updates, it looks Killer as a Limo and would generated cash for a Long Time!!!! 😉
It does and has had 4G LTE with Wi-Fi, starting with the 2015 MY. I showed my neighbor how to use hers a few months ago.
Thanx SE for the Update. 😉
I agree that keeping the XTS around for a couple more years for the livery and funeral business is a good idea to milk a few more dollars out of that gens chassis. Similar to Chevrolet and their Classic series.
It would nice to see all those Lincoln Town Car airport limos replaced with Cadillacs!!!!! There’s friggin’ thousands of them.
XTS should live on for livery and serve the same purpuse as Town Car did. I am upset about Caddy leaving limo service. Benz has done limos forever without harming the brand. This is yet another reason for me to question the logic of Uwe.
On the flip, here’s hoping Buick fills the void with Lacrosse.
The XTS will be around until 2018 or 2019 in one form or another.
After that, the limo and livery markets will be more than served by the CT6 and greater. Like Benz does with the S-Class.
To be honest Benz really is small in the livery market. Too expensive. You have a few here and there for special events but they don’t do many limos and general livery most times they use less expensive cars.
The XTS is going to fill these rolls well as it is less expensive but still a comfortable car. The only reason for it to die is the platform will be gone in 2019. they will not move an old car like this.
I expect the CT6 Will move to Livery roll in 2020 when the true flagship car arrives. This is just perfect timing based on the dates Cadillac has quoted.
I would expect Buick to fill in too if they do the RWD car.
If this model is to stay until 2019, surely it should be fitted with the new V6 engine and an 8-spd transmission?
8 speed transmission on FWD version of car is highly unlikely. However, offering an optional 8 speed with the AWD version will make a great package.
