Is General Motors Relying On College Students To Develop A Hybrid Camaro? Video

General Motors and the U.S. Department of Energy are teaming up to give students at 16 universities the chance to build a hybrid-electric Chevrolet Camaro. Dubbed EcoCAR 3, the challenge is part of the DOE’s Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition, an automotive engineering competition open to college programs/students. The goal of EcoCAR 3 is to create an environmentally-friendly Camaro that doesn’t break the bank or lose the performance consumers expect from the sports car.

Launched in 1988, more than 16,000 students have participated in the DOE’s Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition over the last 25 years. Learn more about this year’s competition in the video below.
