Brazilian website Carrosesegredos.com.br has published a photo of what is our best look yet at the interior of the next-generation D2XX-based Chevrolet Cruze, and we like what we see.
Judging by the spy photo, it seems that the aesthetics of the highly-acclaimed 2014 Impala have trickled down into Chevy’s new global compact, as seen with the design of the center console. It also appears that the next-gen Cruze will feature a new steering wheel.
The launch of the 2016 Cruze, is still a ways away, and won’t take place until late 2015.

Late 2015 huh, as far along as this thing looks to be in development I’m wondering if it’s going to be just like the last go around. The rest of the world has it and we get it later.
Ooohh looks like I know what car I’m buying next year.
Honestly I think Honda and Toyota should just give up and except the fact that gm will be taking back its market share soon.
Where in the article does it say that this is an interior that will be in the U.S. Cruze? It looks remarkedly down scale from the current U.S. Cruze. More sporty, but less luxurious.
My guess is that GM has decided to make a world beater, instead of a top tier vehicle like the current Cruze. The current Civic, though selling well, is no longer the hands down best. The next-gen Corolla is pretty much a redesigned previous generation which was a previous generation. Thus, GM is looking to pass those two and have the best compact in the world for several years. I believe they will do it as the Astra, Sonic, and Spark are small cars that are world beaters and nothing I’ve seen lately from GM would I expect anything else.

Interesting find – can’t wait to see the final product. I’m sure a lot of the details are pre-production (steering wheel and gages look like replicas) – so it’s a little early to start bashing for appearance – I’m sure the final product will be top notch. The passenger side vent reminds me of the Equinox dash.
The steering wheel looks primitive, without any embedded controls for audio etc.
That brasilian site has other spy photos of what they say is a new Cruze, but those show a better steering wheel.
Interesting to note that the barrier seen in the second photo shows the text “Licht”, the German word for light.
I like the standard handbrake, when I replace my car later this year the new one will have an electronic brake, no good when teaching a leaner driver, and I have used to panic lever
Way too little and way too early to be too judgmental here.
At least it looks like the cloth is missing from the dash.
There are still a lot of detail missing here.
