When GM’s Tom Stephens retires April 1st, Jon Lauckner will absorb his position as Chief Technology Officer to go with his job as president of GM Ventures. Lauckner will also oversee all R&D activity while absorbing the duties left by Vice President Alan Taub, who has left the company to “pursue outside interests”. As a result, he will report to GM Vice Chairman Stephen Girsky, and will be instrumental in GM’s Global Product Development staff headed by Mary Barra.
