Chevrolet Spark EV Motor Begins Validation

With the recent announcement of an all-electric Chevrolet Spark bound for the U.S. market in 2013, engineers have begun work on validating early versions of the electric motor that will power the vehicle in a test facility in Wixom, Michigan — just outside of Detroit.

The motor must go through this process before it begins full assembly in its designated plant in White Marsh, Md. It is a permanent magnet electric motor and will generate 85 kW, or 114 hp.

    1. You read correctly, but the electric Spark one-off displayed in India had a smaller motor, and therefore we can’t base much off it.
