RPO Central: Buick Issues RPO Codes For 2012 Regal

Buick has just published the RPO (Regular Production Option) codes for the 2012 Regal. The next model year ushers a few notable changes to the Epsilon II-based Buick midsizer, including new equipment groups, the deletion of the Cyber Gray Metallic color, improved remote keyless entry, the addition of IntelliLink infotainment, eAssist, and — of course — the high-performance GS variant.

  • (UYS) Audio system with navigation, AM/FM/XM stereo, single CD/DVD player and MP3 player, 40GB Hard Drive Device (HDD) with 10GB for music storage, HDD-based voice-activated navigation Time Shift radio with multi-function controller on console
  • (Q9S) Wheels, 19″ x 8.5″ (48.3 cm x 21.6 cm) 10-spoke machined alloy
  • (TU2) Turn signals, side-mounted indicator lamps
  • (LAF) Engine, 2.4L ECOTEC DOHC, 4-cylinder SIDI (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) with VVT (Variable Valve Timing) (182 hp [135.7 kW] @ 6700 rpm, 172 lb-ft of torque [232.2 N-m] @ 4900 rpm)
  • (NXB) Steering, power, non-variable effort, rack-and-pinion
  • (MH7) Transmission, 6-speed automatic, Hydra-Matic, electronically controlled with overdrive, includes Driver Shift Control, tap up/tap down
  • (GBV) Cyber Gray Metallic, exterior color

    1. I hope it never comes! Buick should be about luxury… not luxury as an option.

      And it’s time already to do away with the CX-CXL-CXS trim levels. It should simply be: 2012 Buick Regal. Well equipped right out of the gate, with several option packages such as moonroof, AWD, navigation. No other luxury automaker has “Trim levels” the way Buick does — and that’s a disadvantage, in my opinion.
