2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD Changes, Updates, New Features

The 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD line of heavy-duty full-size pickup trucks receives several minor updates and changes:

Exterior

• Deletion of three exterior colors:
  • Crimson Red Tintcoat
  • Deep Garnet Metallic
  • Pepperdust Metallic
• Addition of two exterior colors:
  • Deep Mahogany Metallic
  • Red Quartz Tintcoat

Interior

• Addition of Rear Vision Camera as standard equipment on all models (was available on 1SA/base on 2017 Sierra), resulting in the removal of the Rear Vision Camera from the Sierra Convenience Package and Sierra Convenience Plus Package
• Replacement of base 4-speaker audio system with 6-speaker sound system on 1SA (base) Regular Cab models
• GMC Infotainment System with 7-inch screen (IOB) replaces AM/FM radio with 4.2-inch diagonal color display on 1SA/base models
  • This results in the Sierra Convenience Plus Package no longer including the IntelliLink Radio with 7-inch diagonal color touch-screen (IOB)
  • Other models get the GMC Infotainment System Radio with 8-inch diagonal color touchscreen (IO5) or the same unit with embedded navigation (IO6)
• Addition of Tire Fill Alert in Tire Pressure Monitoring system

Packages

• Addition of new content to the All Terrain HD Package:
  • On the 2017 Sierra HD, the package included:
    • Spray-on bed liner (CGN)
    • LT265/70R18E all-terrain, blackwall tires (QGM)
    • Front and Rear Park Assist (UD5)
    • Underbody shield, all terrain grille insert with chrome grille surround (NZZ)
    • Heated steering wheel (UVD)
    • Front body-color bumper (VB5)
    • Rear body-color bumper with Cornerstep sill plates (VT5)
    • Floor liners (RIA – LPO-level item)
    • Off-Road Suspension Package (Z71)
  • On the 2018 Sierra HD, the package adds:
    • Underbody shield, all terrain grille insert with body color grille surround and chrome accents (replacing the all terrain grille insert with chrome grille surround) (NZZ)
    • Black painted mirror caps (DP6)
    • Body color door handles (D75)
    • Body color side moldings (B86)
    • Black belt moldings
    • Black skid plate, sill plates
    • Floor liners (RIA – LPO-level item)
    • 4-inch black round assist steps (RVS – LPO-level item)
