Buick U.S. Sales Up 17 Percent To 20,735 Units In April 2017

Cumulative U.S. sales of GM’s Buick brand increased 17 percent to 20,735 units in April 2017, marking the brand’s best April total sales since 2005.

It’s important to note that there was one fewer selling day in April 2017 compared to April 2016. The numbers listed in this report do not adjust for differences in selling days.

Retail sales increased 14.8 percent or 2,412 units to 18,743 units, representing 90.4 percent of total Buick sales for April 2017. That compares to 16,331 retail sales in April 2016, which represented 92.2 percent of total Buick sales. The brand’s performance represented its best April retail sales in 15 years.

Fleet sales increased 43.3 percent or 603 units to 1,992 units, representing 9.6 percent of total Buick sales for April 2017. That compares to 1,389 fleet sales in April 2016, which represented 7.8 percent of total Buick sales.

  1. Not to be too anal – and I supposed it’s fair to include the Envision, even though 2016 provides no meaningful figure –

    but if those are Chinese-made Envisions, then SAIC keeps 50% of the proceeds, correct?

    If that’s the case, income from sales would be up 1.04%, vs. a rosier 17%.

    Oh, btw – I’m guessing it’s a typo, but the first chart (retail vs. fleet) is based on Cadillac. (?).

    Sorry, the OCD is kicking in.

    1. No, SAIC does not keep 50% of the profits of the Envisions sold outside of China.

      We now have the correct table in the post. The version of the article you saw incorrectly had the Cadillac table in there. Glad your OCD caught it 🙂
