You may remember the Yenko Camaro of yore. Although Yenko itself as gone away, New Jersey-based Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) has since used the name under license to create modern-day products. And we think this 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport is certainly worthy of the name.
Automobile was present at the reveal of the Yenko C7 Corvette Grand Sport, which outdoes the C7 Corvette Z06 in the power department. The Yenko Corvette Grand Sport begins life as a regular C7 Grand Sport, but SVE has massaged the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine to displace 6.8-liters. Further, it has also slapped on the C7 Z06’s 2.9-liter twin-screw supercharger fed by the fuel system from the 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine.
Other various upgrades include a forged steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons and CNC ported and polished aluminum heads. All of these powertrain improvements pump the power up to a whopping 800 ponies.
As for the rest of the Yenko Corvette, it’s simply a matter of exterior refinements. There are Yenko badges throughout the Corvette, inside and out, and even on the engine itself.
The 2017 Yenko C7 Corvette Grand Sport will be revealed at the 2017 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, and SVE has stated it is accepting pre-orders now. The Yenko conversion will cost a pretty $46,000 atop the MSRP of a C7 Corvette Grand Sport. Oh, and only 50 will be built. Better get moving.

Do production caps mean anything when there are tuners like Lingenfelter and Hennessey who will build just about anything especially if the price is right.
Sounds awesome but unfortunately these will will become trailer queens with no real use in day to day life
Keith Lindsey and Omegatalon, no matter what you say or think you both know you’d love to have 1!!
That wasn’t my point and you know it. At only 50 cars these things will be vastly more valuable with few or no miles. I’d love to have one if someone were to give one to me but the reality is – my Camaro would get kicked out of the garage and the vette would remain up on blocks and undriven for years before I sold it on Barrett Jackson.
Keith Lindssey, still seems like a whole lot of whining. Unless you have an ORIGINAL Yenko camaro than out of the garage it would go. You know that the Yenko Vette that’s been on blocks would be a better retirement plan than your 401k.
Yada yada yada. I’m a practical guy – sorry. I don’t have any showpieces , I don’t have a 5 car garage, I don’t have a 7 figure salary. If I was gonna pick a vette I’d rather have a grand sport. At least I could have a little fun with it. This thing would end up like the Ducati 888 Superbike that sit’s in my mechanics dining room. He can’t get parts so he’s afraid to ride it. Where’s the fun in that? Life’s too short and the time is too precious. I want stuff in my life that makes me happy now – not in 10 or 20 years when I sell it.
10 or 20 yrs. When it makes your “kids” happy..
Let me explain some fun facts about me…
1 – Grew up a Navy brat, mom died when I was ten and from there was raised mostly by a Japanese stepmother and went to almost as many schools as there were grades – never had more than a few friends and was horribly shy. I’m antisocial and an introvert. Not great daddy material and really didn’t even start dating until I was 35.
2 – Had a near death motorcycle accident when I was 28 almost 25 years ago. Near death experiences often leave the person with a desire to live for the moment – and I certainly qualify.
3 – The last time I had a car for investment purposes it was a fatally flawed Jag E-type that developed a gas leak in my garage that was lit by the water heater pilot light and almost burned my house down.
Please don’t try and tell me how to think – I’ve been through enough and seen enough to think for myself thank you.
It would be wild if Cadillac asked Chevrolet for the C7 chassis when the C8 Corvette goes online, so Cadillac can build a high performance 2-door coupe based on the C7 chassis.
SO they basically turned the Grandsport into an ungraded Z06. Isn’t the point of the Grandsport to be naturally aspirated? Why not just take a Z06 and do the upgrades. Once you change all the badging it’s not a Grandsport anymore.
