2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV Up For North American Car Of The Year

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV only launched a few weeks ago, but that hasn’t stopped the press from dishing out accolades and praise for the affordable electric vehicle. The 2017 Bolt EV has swept more than a few award categories, including the coveted Motor Trend Car of the Year award.

So, what’s next for the Bolt EV? The 2017 North American Car of the Year award, potentially.

The ballots have been cast for the finalists in each category and the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV has been named as one of three finalists to move on. Its competitors are the Genesis G90 and Volvo S90, both large luxury sedans looking to make their mark in the industry.

The Bolt EV is certainly the most technologically advanced of the two other competitors, but the Volvo and Genesis have arrived to much praise, too, despite having vastly different goals in mind than the Bolt EV.

Judges have only days to decide a winner; the 2017 North American Car, Truck and Utility of the Year will be announced at the 2017 North American International Auto Show on the first press day.

  1. I expect it to win. The other two are NOT “North American” vehicles at all!

  2. It will win because it is a EV. That is a hot bottom for the industry to promote in the media. It attracts readers in the media more than a Hyundai or Volvo.
