General Motors’ Maven Car-Sharing Service Launches In Los Angeles

With over 20 million miles driven, General Motors’ car-sharing service is now setting its sights on even more of California. Maven has officially launched in Los Angeles, California.

In just nine months, Maven has stretched across the United States to cover nine markets: Ann Arbor, Michigan, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. More cities will be added as the service continues to grow.

Los Angeles was chosen as the city continues to gradually move away from car ownership, and infrastructure enhancements to transit and biking make living car-free an option. Maven looks to fill the void when a vehicle is necessary, though.

Maven will offer a variety of vehicles in its fleet to choose from, too. Maven members may choose from the following:

Initially, Maven LA will launch in downtown Los Angeles, Little Tokyo and South Park. There will also be locations near the University of Southern California including four cars at University Gateway Apartments.
