Buick U.S. Sales Increase 14 Percent To 20,922 Units In September 2016

Sales of GM’s premium vehicle brand, Buick, increased in the United States and decreased in Canada in September 2016.

In the United States, Buick sales increased 14 percent to 20,922 units.

Buick retail sales were up 6.7 percent, or 1,077 units, year-over-year to 17,199 units, representing 82.2 percent of total Buick sales. That compares with 16,122 retail sales in September 2015, which represented 87.9 percent of total Buick sales.

Buick fleet sales shot up 67.8 percent, or 1,504 units, year-over-year to 3,723 units, representing 17.8 percent of total Buick sales for the month. That compares with 2,219 fleet sales in September 2015, which represented 12.1 percent of total Buick sales.

  1. Verano. Sales increased 65 percent and gm is cancelling future production of a brand new body style . GM has always been great at shooting themselves in the foot.

    1. Well, the Verano was (very likely) the reason fleet sales jumped 1,500 units… so it’s not about actual “people” at the retail level buying it, but rather run-out production being sold to fleets.

      That said, it’s possible that Verano isn’t necessarily being discontinued, but rather that there will be a short break in the nameplate.

  2. Or brining the astra hatchback and name it as the verano? But I does kinda sound unlikely

    1. Not entirely impossible since Chevrolet is doing a Cruze hatch. Why not do a fancier version for Buick?

      I think though that Buick will continue to focus on ‘white space’ and bring over the Regal (Insignia) wagon and call it the TourX.
