Gotta Catch Them All: OnStar 4G LTE WiFi Is The Perfect Pokémon Go Companion

General Motors has a winner on its hands with the addition of 4G LTE WiFi to its portfolio of vehicles under the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands. Hell, we’ve even used it to bring you the latest GM news during our assortment of travels.

It’s a classic example of working smarter, not harder. But, you likely never thought OnStar 4G LTE WiFi would help you become the very best. The very best Pokémon trainer, that is.

Pokémon Go has taken the world by absolute storm, calling back Generation Y and millennials to their younger days to become the greatest trainers the globe has ever seen, in real life, we may add. Falling in line with the whole “work smarter, not harder” motif, why not put 4G LTE WiFi to work?

Pokémon Go isn’t perfect, and has a tendency to suck data faster than when you punctured the hole into your Hi-C juice box, waiting for Kanto journeys to air after school. OnStar 4G LTE WiFi can fix this.

With the capability to support up to seven devices, you and your team (Instinct, Mystic or Valor) can travel across the land, searching far and wide for each Pokémon without draining precious cellular data.

The signal is capable of reaching outward, too; parking your GM vehicle of choice and wandering the landscape isn’t out of reach. Or, hand your device off to your shotgun partner of choice as you roam wherever the game takes you. It works, I know from personal experience.

Your fellow Pokémon trainers will thank you, and you’ll be blasting off again. Just like Team Rocket.

  1. Maybe General Motors needs to consider licensing Pokemon’s Pikachu as being their official 4G LTE WiFi mascot.

  2. Oddly, I’m getting not-great support from Onstar. I own a Chevy Impala with My Link … Pokemon Go was working great – my family uses it when I’m driving and parking it downtown is about the only way my daughter can get her tablet anywhere near where the game works well… but the game has stopped loading on the Mylink wi-fi (works fine everywhere else, even tethered to another phone) but that game will not load in my car any longer… I hope that there has not been an update that blocks it?

  3. I have been using all this trick to get the pokemon hack here.
