General Motors has given up. No, not on everything, on camouflage. We say that because this 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 mule has little to distract the eyes from what’s going on here: it’s obviously a Z/28.
Hell, GM even slapped on some yellow-orange hashmarks on the fender for giggles, it seems. So, let’s dive into what we see here.
The Drive posted the shots of the upcoming 2018 Camaro Z/28 scooting around the Nürburgring. Here, we once again see an adjustable spoiler and a massive front intake to gulp down all the air it can take. There’s also meaty rubber to put down power from an undisclosed engine source. Our gut says a naturally-aspirated V8 will make its way under the hood once again, though.
The Camaro team has been playing rapid fire with Camaro variants, but with the 2017 Camaro ZL1 and 2017 Camaro 1LE only arriving later this year, you can bet the Z/28 will likely be baking a little longer.

Why would you say that this is a 2018?
It will chew up anything ford or dodge has to offer
And probably whatever upcoming $150,000 GTR variant Nissan fanboys try to throw at it too.
I expect this car at Detroit with a spring delivery.
I have heard there may be a similar Corvette coming too with a large wing to help the Z06 platform with down force. They have a better car but lack down force of the competitors and they are having trouble putting the power to the ground.
It would be more a track car but still street legal. Think A Vette Version of the Viper ACR.
Please take a close look at the photo’s. I get a funny feeling that rear wing may be movable.
Look at the stands and how they are made and look at the three bases. I suspect this wing may work in a switch and with speed and may rise up out of the deck lid.
Lets face it this is not the car you take for groceries.
@ scott3 “I suspect this wing … may rise up out of the deck lid”
I thought the same thing, either powered like on the McLaren P1 or manually, it also wouldn’t look good driving around everywhere with the wing up all the time.
But still…I’d take it to get my groceries. The more trips I have to make, the better.
Taking a closer look at the hood, it looks like the ZL1 hood. It makes sense from a performance standpoint that they’d have to go up from the LT1 and previous engine LS7. These are not an option, nor is the LSA, in my opinion. GM currently has nothing in between the LT1 and the LT4. Could it be the Z/28 gets the LT4?
Can we talk about the new 10-speed? GM confident its quicker than the PDK..
My eyes bugged out seeing that airfoil. It’s about time.
