The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is likely one of the best performance-per-dollar purchases on the market at current. And for the 2017 model year, the sports car will be seeing some increases.
Now, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro will see a $605 price increase across all trim levels and engine variants, including the turbo-four, V6 LT and V8 SS models.
Therefore, a base 2017 Camaro will now start at for $27,300, which includes destination, and the 2017 Camaro 1SS will rise to $37,900, while the 2SS will start at $42,900.
- 1LT coupe: $27,300
- 1LT V-6 coupe: $28,795
- 2LT coupe: $31,400
- 2LT V-6 coupe: $32,895
- 1SS coupe: $37,900
- 2SS coupe: $42,900
- Convertibles add $7,000 across the board
Additionally, the 50th Anniversary package may be applied to either the 2LT V6 coupe, or the 2SS variant. If the features and equipment in that model tickle your fancy, then it will cost an additional $2,595 on the 2LT coupe and rises to $4,390 on the 6.2-liter LT1 V8.
The 2017 model year Camaro should arrive at dealers this summer, so those looking to get the most power per dollar should snap up a 2016 iteration while they are still available. And, don’t forget, the 2017 Camaro will also bring in the 1LE track pack as well as the monstrous 2017 Camaro ZL1.

And the mustang sales gap continues to widen..
GM
I dont think GM cares about volume at this point, its all about profit right now.
It’s really mysterious. Why they did that. They’re all ready making more profit than ford from those shared engines (lt1, lt4, and lsx) and Alfa platform!!! Why keep widening the sells gap!
A $605 across the board increase equates from 2.2% on the 1LT to 1.4% on the 2SS. That’s a modest year over year increase, and I’m sure that the 2017 Mustang will see a similar one.
No, it doesn’t. Mustang’s sales are down comparing to last year while Camaro is 7.5% up over last year. The gap is shrinking and will continue to shrink as there is more Camaro models introduced and 2.0T becomes widely available.
I’m willing to bet you the difference in sales is fleet sales.
Greg, 2015 was the worst year for the Camaro… Mustang sales show the diference betwen a masterpiece (Mustang 6 years development) and an asap Project that was forced to use a platform designed for another kind of car…. Camaro six always will be under Mustang in sales and this was not the idea for GM. Now the gap in sales is the worst tragedy for GM and I am sure that the Company do something…. Ford is really happy now…..
I hear you Sergio, though not sure about it being a tragedy. That’s a bit extreme.
GM has accepted that the Chevy Camaro had to be priced higher on the Alpha platform and may lose some sales because of it. but the car is going to sell about 70,000 for the year which is good and the Camaro is just another car in the Chevy line that is continuing to help the image of higher quality and lower weight with much more tech than any other volume brand/division is giving you. (see 2016 Cruze & 2016 Malibu)
Yes, Ford also sorta wins because of this, with some higher Mustang sales (Ford Mustang will win the sales war)….but in comparisons the sixth gen Camaro is handily beating the current Mustang in handling, performance, quality/workmanship (but you have to pay for it!).
Not 100% sold on quality, I’ve seen some of the worst paint yet on these new Camaros. Primer showing in some areas. Not sticking up for the Mustang tho, I’ve seen poor body lines on these new ones.
If your a Mustang fan more sales are good knowing that the aftermarket support will continue to be huge, and now the UK and Aus will be jumping in on the aftermarket support now.
Camaro has an advantage in GMs wide use of V8 engines continuing they’re huge following for aftermarket support.
Ken, you are right about the slacking on paint. I’m pretty sure the current Colorado has had paint issues also.
This:
“Mustang sales show the diference betwen a masterpiece (Mustang 6 years development) and an asap Project that was forced to use a platform designed for another kind of car”
The Camaro is as much of a “masterpiece” as the Mustang, if not more (based on its better driving experience and higher performance capability and envelope).
Then you say that the Camaro was an “asap project” and that it “was forced to use a platform designed for another kind of car”?
In what world is this even remotely close to reality? The gen six Camaro, from day one, was meant to use Alpha. The vehicle benefits from the platform an incredible amount, and everybody who has driven one sees and feels this in the first five minutes behind the wheel.
There was never an “ASAP project” or any “forcing”… the use of Alpha is and has been completely intentional, and the results speak for themselves: Camaro six an excellent driver’s car, a high-performing sports car, and one that beats its nearest competitors in most (if not all) head-to-head comparisons, Mustang included.
A $7k bump for a convertable???/ Who the hell do they think theyt are, Cadillac??
They didn’t mean a 2017 convertible will be $7k more than a 2016, just that a convertible will be $7k over the coupe version of any trim level.
So give up some information price on ZL1.
I hope Chevrolet can sneak by on the “slim” profits they must be making on the ’16-’17 Camaro. 48K for a loaded SS
Coupe and almost 56K for the Convert. Seriously?? They deserve to lose their a** I can’t wait for the next 80K Z28!
All I wanna know is when can I order this car
