2017 Chevrolet Volt Begins Production, Will Ship In 8 Weeks

The 2017 Chevrolet Volt extended range EV has started making its way down the line at the Hamtramck Assembly Plant in Detroit, and will start showing up on dealer lots in about eight weeks.

So who’s excited? Believe it or not, those who become fans of Volt stay fans of the Volt, and for many different reasons. Some find that it makes for a fuel-efficient alternative to using a camper, while our own Manoli Katakis uses his current model in SCCA Solo autocross events, and one Canadian dealership found that just experiencing a Volt can make one a Veliever (get it?).

The biggest news for the 2017 model is that it will be sold nationwide, unlike the 2016 model which is only available in 11 states. Beyond that, there’s new standard equipment including Rear Vision Camera, a limited Citron Green Metallic finish, and new available features including Forward Collision Alert.

  1. Still no sun roof as an option! 🙁

Also, why does it list TPMS as an accessory?

    “Tire Pressure Monitor
Snap In. Sensors located behind the tire valve stems monitor and provide information on tire pressure.”

I know its federally mandated so what am I missing here?
