We’re nearly positive you all are familiar with our love affair of the 2015 Chevrolet SS, via Holden VF Commodore. The bang-for-your-buck factor is superb, and will have no one suspecting the power as you pull up to a stoplight.
Especially if you’re running the HPE600 package offered by Hennessey Performance.
John Hennessey, founder of Hennessey Performance Engineering, invites us to have a closer look at what the HPE600 supercharger package is capable of in this already super saloon.
We actually learn Hennessey owns a 2014 Chevrolet SS, which he adores, but we can tell he’s a tad jealous due to missing out on the Magnetic Ride Control and manual gearbox option offered for the 2015 model year. Regardless, he makes up for that by flinging this 2015 SS sedan around the HPE proving grounds, wringing out the 530 wheel-horsepower monster.
The best part is the car still runs a factory exhaust, meaning you won’t be giving any hints to intrigued vehicles eyeing a quick pull, though, the factory exhaust burble from the 6.2-liter LS3 isn’t half-bad.
Before Mr. Hennessey closes his time with the camera, he makes sure he lays down some rubber, leaving his signature in two parallel tire tracks on the proving ground. We’re sure whoever takes delivery of this car will be a happy customer. Watch the 2015 SS in action below.
