It seems General Motors can’t get enough of the silver screen. We just recently saw plenty of GM machinery in the new Entourage trailer, and we can’t forget the ongoing stars of Transformers series, like the Bumblebee Camaro.
Now, the time has come for the 2016 Chevrolet Volt to take the limelight. The completely redesigned Volt will star alongside the General Motors EN-V concept in Disney’s “Tomorrowland.”
The film is described as a  riveting mystery, as a jaded scientist and an optimistic teen embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space. Chevrolet feels the film jives well with what the 2016 Volt hopes to accomplish in the car’s second generation.
“Tomorrowland is a place where nothing is impossible, which is something that Chevrolet believes can exist in the here and now,” said Tim Mahoney, vice president, Global Chevrolet. “The Chevrolet spirit reflects the hopes and possibilities of tomorrow in real instruments of change for today like the next-generation Chevrolet Volt.”
The film will coincide with some of the 2016 Volt’s first initial marketing efforts, with a television spot and digital advertising beginning in early May before the film’s May 22nd debut.
“Tomorrowland” is the perfect platform to tie the 2016 Chevrolet Volt’s latest technological and engineering achievements to a world where the sky is the limit, creating an unmistakeable link for moviegoers.
As we’ve said before, someone inside General Motors is putting the marketing budget to very good use.
