2016 Chevrolet Camaro Finally Running Around The Nürburgring: Video

If there’s one thing we love, it’s distilled, unadulterated track side footage from the Nürburgring Nordschleife. But wait, is that a camouflage-laden 6th generation Camaro driving amongst the 2015 Camaro, the Corvette, and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS?

Yes, yes it is.

This video comes to us courtesy of Youtube user Kreuz Schwarz, and beside letting us bask in the sights and sounds of various performance sports cars lapping the Nordschleife at speed, it also gives us our first opportunity to see the new 6th generation, 2016 Chevrolet Camaro lap the Green Hell incognito.

There’s quite a bit of tire squealing going on in both of the clips in which the 2016 Camaro appears, enough to mostly drown out the growl of the engine. But would you look at that speed. Coming over the crest of the hill, there’s absolutely zero secondary motion from the suspension, and body roll looks very well-managed.

That’s partially due to the reduction in size and weight of the new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, which is now being built on General Motors’ more lithe Alpha platform. It’s far too early for any specifics, as even the wheelbase and track have still not been announced, but if Chevrolet wants to give the new 2015 Mustang a run for its money, this new Camaro is going to have to be one heck of a thing.

  1. Since it’s in there I’m gonna ask, is this the blue Z06 in the video that replaced the wrecked yellow 1 from the other day?

  2. Yes it is the Blue Z06.

I am excited to see what times are reported.

  3. It seems like the camaro SS is going to have the base corvette engine….. Sounds really familiar

    1. They all sound alike.

They are LT based and the sound will not change much no matter which version it is.

The SS more than likely will have the Stingray engine less a few HP due to claimed exhaust issues etc.

Note even the older LS bases Z/28 sounds similar.
