A chance to own one of the few COPO Camaros ordered by legendary Chevrolet dealer and tuner Don Yenko doesn’t arise very often. Yenko Camaros have developed a cult-like following from Chevrolet and Camaro enthusiasts and will fetch a pretty penny if they cross the block at any classic car auction. This Fathom Green 1969 Yenko Camaro found for sale on eBay is definitely no exception to that rule.
According to the listing, this COPO is one of 171 factory four speed cars produced in 1969 and is 1 of 100 COPO Camaros ordered by Yenko Chevrolet. It has a period correct 427 ci, 450 horsepower replacement motor mated to the original numbers-matching Muncie M21 close-ratio four-speed transmission. The original motor was apparently blown and replaced by Yenko himself at the dealership.
The car underwent a complete and correct restoration and appears exactly how it looked when it left the factory in ’69 with the same Fathom Green paint job, Black vinyl roof and spotless Black interior. The seller says this is probably the finest example of a 1969 Yenko Camaro in existence, so if you’re interested check out the ad and be prepared to re-mortgage your house in order to meet the $235,000 Buy It Now price.
