During the second day of the 2013 LA Auto Show, Chevrolet is showing new additions to the subcompact Sonic family for the 2014 model year, including the 2014 Sonic RS Sedan and 2014 Sonic Dusk Sedan.
For the 2014 Sonic RS Sedan, we get all the handling goodies — including unique transmission gearing in the six-speed manual, or a 3.53 final drive ratio for automatic-equipped models, along with a sport-tuned suspension and lowered ride height —Â as seen with the currently-available hatchback model, as well as an aggressive front fascia to match. The same can be said of the interior, which sports aluminum sport pedals, a three-spoke flat-bottom leather steering wheel, red contrast stitching, and special red-stitched bucket seats.
When the 2014 Sonic RS launches in Spring 2014 for a starting MSRP of $20,530 (including $825 destination), it will be available in the colors:Â Black Granite Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic or Summit White, all with Jet Black leather-appointed interiors.
Also announced was the production of the Sonic Dusk. The Sonic Dusk sedan has only been displayed at auto shows as a concept so far, but it has been announced previously that the little brooder would eventually find itself rolling out of the Orion, Michigan Assembly Facility. The Sonic Dusk will start at $20,945 including destination, and comes exclusively in Ashen Grey Metallic.
Along with the unique exterior hue, the Sonic Dusk features a matte appearance on the upper and lower grilles, door handle inserts and rear license plate trim. There’s also stainless steel lower window moldings add an upscale accent to the body. Inside are Jet Black leather-trimmed seats with sueded microfiber accents and Mojave tan inserts. The Sonic Dusk features 18-inch aluminum wheels with a Midnight Silver matte finish and four-wheel disc brakes like the Sonic RS.

8 inch aluminum wheels?? that’s quite small lol
Not a bad looking car, except for the grill.
I’ve been waiting for them to build the RS in a sedan, but why no good colors… blue or red please!
The whole time I was reading this I was like “1.6L Turbo? Nope, dammit!” – “Direct Injection on the 1.4L Turbo? Nope, dammit!”
Whatever, it is what it is! I like the way the Sonic looks and I feel it is a strong competitor against the ugly Fit, Yaris, Fiesta, Accent etc.
