2014 Cadillac CTS Priced From $46,025

With the 2014 CTS sedan, Cadillac has a proper mid-size sedan to combat the stalwart BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, and others. From the inside-out, the new CTS seems to feature little to no compromise, and the pricing appears to reflect that, as the car will carry a base MSRP of $46,025, including a $925 destination fee.

As customary with Cadillac, there will be three option packages – Luxury, Performance and Premium – and will be offered with either the base 2.0T turbocharged four cylinder or 3.6L naturally aspirated V6 engine in either rear- or all-wheel drive.

Those opting for the more athletic 2014 CTS VSport will have to pony up $59,995, including $925 destination. With this performance model (but not quite the next CTS-V) comes the debut of the LF3 twin-turbo V6 rated at 420 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, sending power to the rear wheels via a new 8-speed transmission.

A quick jog to the BMW website shows that the current 5 Series begins at $48,725 including destination, while Mercedes-Benz E-Class starts at $52,825 including destination (the most expensive in its class) and the Audi A6 comes in at a lesser $43,075 including destination. For those wondering, the Jaguar XF costs $46,975. All this means that while the 2014 CTS comes in nearly $7,000 higher than the outgoing model, it’s still priced toward the middle-to-low end of its class.

  1. The price is no surprise, but what they need to do is maintain that price advantage in Europe and China

  3. Wow, seems pricey until compared to competition… I know the 4 turbo is a strong engine but just years ago a 6 would have been standard… I dont know, I just think a stretch for a vehicle that size with a 4 banger turbo. I guess cafe laws are changing everything. My vote would be a 3.0 liter direct injection V6 Turbo with 300 horse as base. Then the 3.5, and then the 3.5 twin turbo. Why have they not done a direct injection of a 3.9 or something like that for Caddy to differinciate it from 3.5 for all other brands… Anyway… Wow

  4. No bad considering what you’re getting and still lower than Cadillac’s main target (BMW)

  5. This car is priced where it needs to be as it is going up against more expensive models.

Cadillac stated it will sell for higher prices with higher and much better and competitive cars.

The bottom line is cars are not cheap anymore and they will not get any cheaper.

Especially not in this segment. Luxury cars, no matter who makes them, aren’t suppose to be affordable. The price tag for the new CTS shouldn’t have been a shock to anyone.

    2. Exactly. Maybe some current CTS owners are surprised by this (I’m not; past 2006 CTS owner and current 2008). But this car isn’t the 1st or 2nd gen CTS where it is poised to sit between the 3 and 5 Series. This is true-and-true 5 Series competitor now. Anybody thinking this would be the same price as the second gen CTS should be looking at the ATS as a new vehicle.

  6. Very competitively priced, especially at the V-Sport model which is way less than a 550i, Mercedes Benz E550/E450, and Audi S6. This car could get me back in GM. Can’t wait to drive one.

  8. I will warn you the V will not be the same price either. I expect a price well north of $80K. But you will also get over 600 HP too.

I just wonder if GM will finally give the V AWD to put the 600 HP down. Imagine how fast it would be 0-60?

600 HP means little if the engine management system cuts in to kill power when you start to spin the tires.

    1. Yea i’m with you on price, I’m expecting the sticker to be between 85 and 90 for a fully loaded V this time around. Also, in regards to your 0-60 comment, i’ve thought the same exact thing!I have a sneaking feeling they WILL offer awd, or perhaps even better yet…launch control, to compete with the new S-model E63 AMGs with the tt 5.5’s that have the 4matic that are supposedly pulling 0-60’s in the mid 3’s. It would also be nice to have the optional awd feature when you’re driving what may potentially be [more like “hopefully” 😉 ] 600 or more hp in the snow or rain and need the help of those 2 extra contact patches. Hell, i’ve wondered many times what the current V could do if it had the awd of the base cts…then it would TRULY do 0-60 in the high 3’s as many of the ads have mentioned! Even though the true 0-60 for the current V is more like 4.1-4.2….which is still quite quick.
