Cadillac To Debut New Escalade, CTS And ELR Next Year

After unveiling the ATS in Detroit earlier this year, Cadillac has its compass pointed northward to 2013, preparing a surge of new product unveilings, GM Authority has learned. Out of the three, one will be responsible for expanding the brand’s slowly growing lineup: the ELR plug-in extended range electric vehicle. As reported previously, the production-bound ELR will make its debut this time next year during the 2013 Pebble Beach Concourse d’Elegance.

The other two, predictably, will be the next-generation CTS and Escalade models. Little is known about the design of the upcoming luxury SUV, but it’s pretty clear that the new CTS will carry over a look similar to that of the ATS, judging by the spy photos. Gazing into our crystal ball, it’s possible that the 2014 CTS will make its debut in Detroit (if not New York), while the new ‘Slade may find itself uncloaking itself in Chicago — a show known for revealing trucks and SUVs.

Will this be all? Considering other products on the horizon such as an ATS-V and a new crossover, there could be a new Cadillac model or concept revealed during every show next year. Maybe.

  1. I assure your readers, my comment about a Buick version of the Volt was gleaned from the numerous internet articles on the possibility. I have no official knowledge of a Buick version, let alone the name. Rookie mistake, I should have checked my sources or said “there are mounting internet rumors that GM is considering a Buick version of the Volt” instead of stating it as fact. My apologies. But hey, the first 6 bay solar charging station in Georgia is a fact!

  2. The owner of the dealership that I used to work at was invited down to Detroit to view the upcoming sierra, silverado, and escalade. He said that the Escalade was the most beautiful vehicle he has ever seen or sat in. It will be so far ahead of any full size luxury SUV on the market by a long shot.

    1. Talk is cheap and anecdotal evidence won’t say nearly as much as a pair of buttocks do the first time they take a seat behind the wheel.

  4. I honestly thought the CTS would be revealed in Los Angeles. What about that Auto Show?
About the Escalade, will that be revealed alongside the Chevrolet trucks, or will they wait a while? If they reveal it alongside the Chevies, I am once again disappointed. I really thought all of these cars would be revealed sooner.

  5. Cadillac needs a convertible ATS or CTS. The last full size Cadillac convertible was the 1976 Eldorado (not counting the XLR or the Allante). They are leaving the luxuray convertible market to Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
