It’s time now for the seemingly bi-monthly rumor of an upcoming Cadillac flagship sedan that will look to lay down the gauntlet on Europe’s best and bring one in for the home team.
According to Car and Driver, new intel has surfaced on what we can expect from the unnamed vehicle, which is expected to launch in 2014 as a 2015 model. First, the flagship is expected to resemble the fantastic Sixteen Concept and offer six and eight cylinder mills, with a possible hybrid drivetrain somewhere farther down the road. C&D goes on to say that their sources have disclosed that the vehicle will utilize a standalone platform titled Omega that will be exclusive to Cadillac. We’re guessing the Alpha platform just didn’t sound bad ass enough for such a vehicle, because it has been rumored that the platform is just as capable to support a vehicle of this stature. As for what kind of technology or comfort features we may see, well that still remains a mystery.
C&D also says that insiders are talking of an even fancier, more expensive Omega model that would compete with the likes of the Rolls Royce Phantom, but even if the vehicle would be underpinned by the most intimidating platform name ever, we wouldn’t hold our breath about that one.

Oh yes! This is what I’m talking about. Even though this is probably a stretched (and toughened-up) Alpha, this is finally where Caddy should be going!
Is Holden developing anything on the Alpha or Omega platforms?
I hartely agree, handbuilt American industrial craft with Mybach luxury and custom chopper swagger. America needs this, I would be geeked if this were a Lincoln or Imperial, but being a GM head, Cadillac is just too perfect.
This is great! Finally Something to give Cadillac a huge kick in “I want” factor!!!. If this come out great, Less eyes on MB, BMW and Jag…
It’s so ugly.
