While we’ve known about the Zeta platform-based 2011 Chevrolet Caprice PPV for quite some time now, it’s not all that General Motors will be offering the boys in blue. Enter the 2011 Chevrolet Caprice PPV Detective Package, a much more subtle (yet still equally capable) version for the more white-collared members of the police force.
The Caprice PPV Detective Package will be powered by the same 6.0 liter V8 (L98) powerplant that makes a wholesome 355-horsepower and 385 lbs.-ft. of torque to the rear wheels mated to a six speed automatic transmission with manumatic mode. Additionally, those precincts demanding something other than black will have a choice of seven different colors for the model… we’ll take ours in black though.
Though rumors have been stirring about some sort of civilian version arising in the future, nothing has been confirmed at this point. If you want one of these bad-boy busters, your best bet is to find one at an auction in a few years after it’s been decommissioned for a fresh model.
