Does the 2022 Buick Envision require premium gasoline? The owner’s manual says Octane of 87 or better.
Many online articles indicate Octane of 91. Current engine is 2.0 Turbo EcoTec 4 cyl.
There is a difference between “required” and “recommended.” My last car was a 2019 Cadillac XT4 with this same engine and I always used regular with no issues. Granted, I probably lost a few miles per gallon as the engine wasn’t running as efficiently as it would have with a higher octane fuel, but I only put about 6-7000 miles on per year. We just traded our Cadillac for 2022 Buick Envision Essence(s) with the same engine. We’ve been using regular in the Buicks as well with no issues.
There are tons of articles on the internet about this issue. We only keep our cars for three years so the long-range impact of using regular vs. premium on this engine doesn’t really apply to us. However, if you plan to keep your Buick for a number of years, there could possibly be some issues related to using a lower octane gas. Do some research on this issue and then make your choice.
BTW … we love our 2022 Envisions (one for her; one for me!). Good luck.
