Chevy Camaro Convertible Taken Out By Arkansas State Police After High-Speed Chase: Video

A new viral video has hit the web showing a high-speed chase between a Chevy Camaro Convertible and Arkansas Police, with law enforcement terminating the chase by pitching the drop-top Chevy into the tree line with a PIT maneuver. The driver was subsequently handed multiple charges, including drug and firearm possession.

According to the video, the incident took place on August 26th, 2024, around 8:00 p.m. local time. Little Rock Police contacted Arkansas State Police requesting assistance in a vehicle pursuit involving a Chevy Camaro convertible fleeing south on South University Avenue.

As the video gets underway, we see Trooper R. Plyler responding to the call, joining the pursuit alongside two Little Rock PD units as they follow the Chevy Camaro through the darkened streets. The video shows the Chevy darting through various residential roads, with the driver narrowly missing other vehicles and crashing over the speed bumps. The chase later leads through town, where we see the Chevy dangerously weaving through traffic. According to a police report, this section of the chase reached speeds upwards of 70 to 80 mph.

Later in the video, the driver is also seen traveling down the center turn lane, maneuvering around other vehicles and running a red light. After clearing the traffic in town, the driver puts their foot down, accelerating up to 114 mph.

Around the five-minute, 28-second mark, we see Arkansas State Police execute a high-speed PIT maneuver, sending the Chevy Camaro crashing into a tree line. The driver then attempts to flee on foot, but is eventually located and arrested.

After searching the Camaro, police recovered loaded FN 5.7 handgun and a backpack containing scales and roughly six pounds of fentanyl. Meanwhile, the driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a possible rib injury sustained in the chase and subsequent crash.
