All-New 2025 Cadillac XT5 Interior Officially Unveiled In China

Following the world debut of the all-new 2025 Cadillac XT5 in China, General Motors has just revealed the interior of Cadillac‘s completely redesigned midsize crossover.

The automaker unveiled the all-new 2025 Cadillac XT5‘s interior as part of the model’s gradual introduction in the Asian country, where it will be launched over the next few weeks. In this regard, the SAIC-GM joint venture in China showed the first official images of the second-generation Cadillac XT5’s fully redesigned cabin with the brand’s latest styling and technological features.

As previewed in the crossover’s fully exposed interior back in May 2024, the all-new 2025 Cadillac XT5 interior adopts the latest evolution of the brand’s design language and a look quite similar to that of the most recent Cadillac models. It highlights the horizontal, flowing layout of the dashboard and the massive, class-leading 33-inch 9K curved display panel, as the undisputed protagonist of the cabin from the driving position.

In addition to the latest technology and connectivity solutions, the interior design of the all-new 2025 Cadillac XT5 is substantially more refined, while customization options have increased over the previous model. According to the manufacturer, the redesigned crossover incorporates a greater selection of premium materials and multiple color combinations, as well as improved sound insulation and an AKG audio system – for the first time in the model.

Specifically, the second-generation 2025 Cadillac XT5’s interior revealed by SAIC-GM corresponds to one of the range-topping Sport trim level variants. It features its own combination of burgundy leather upholstery, multiple brushed aluminum finishes, and matte moldings with carbon fiber-like patterns on both the dashboard and center console. It also boasts an advanced ambient lighting system.

The all-new 2025 Cadillac XT5 interior stands out for its practicality and spaciousness as well, with a multi-level floating center console and multiple storage areas. Meanwhile, the second row features more space with more comfortable seats, while the folding seatbacks create a completely flat floor. The redesigned 2025 XT5 has already started production at the Cadillac Jinqiao plant and will be officially launched in the coming weeks in the domestic market of China.

    1. XT6 needed an update when it first landed in showrooms. That was a terrible post JoHan vehicle. Trash Cadillac even went there.

      1. I respect your opinion and right to it but will also respectfully disagree. The XT6 was a good looking car when it hit. The XT5 is very long in the tooth and in need of this update. The issue for me with the XT6 is that it’s front wheel drive and that fact is a shame.

      1. Only if you will accept an EV. Where is the electric charging infrastructure in the US to support plug in cars?

        1. Couple things: LYRIQ is one of the most popular luxury EVs in the US (second most behind the i4), so these people are having to charge somewhere. There’s around 180,000 public chargers fully installed in the United States. Tesla has sold roughly 1 million EVs in the US this year so far. You’re meaning to tell me that none of these people are using public EV chargers??

    2. The current US government wants only electric cars. They have been pushing this for a long time now. GM is working on only electric cars for the US while the Chinese get to keep driving gas cars. Very sad.

  3. Petition to force Cadillac to use stitched leather or vegan leather on upper door trims and upper dashboard instead of plastic. It looks cheap as a sin.

    1. My guess (and hope) is GM has a backup plan should Lyriq sales stagnate they can switch over to produce some of these for the US market. I believe its still on the epsilon platform so Spring Hill should still be tooled for it. That or import some from China. At this point I don’t even care. I am not ready to shell out $70k on an EV and would need to look elsewhere for a luxury midsize ICE SUV if GM doesn’t deliver.

          1. The E2 and C1xx-2 are not in the same family. Yes they share some suspension parts but the same could be said for the D2 and Gamma. The last E2 vehicle GM will build it the XT4. That will stay in Fairfax (which is the last and only US plant tooled for E2)

  5. I can’t say how I know this without revealing my source, but IT’S COMING TO AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! annnnnndddd with a 2.0L Hybrid baby!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe it, but they’re doubling back on their word and Cadillac will indeed have a hybrid. Coming as a ’26MY! From what I can gather, they will reduce BEV output and let market demand dictate production. The trade-off sadly is the CT4(I think we all could’ve predicted this) will die and the BEV sedan will be delayed. 🙁

    (fact check my comment in a few months)

    Mark my words, in the future BEV sedans & coupes will be for the clientele with more disposable income than the average Cadillac prospect.

    3. As they’d say on Letter Kenny “can confirm” pay attention to the Cadillac “luxury of choice” marketing tag line already in use. Cadillac will have the most well rounded lineup it’s ever had in the next 2 years. ICE, PHEV and EV in multiple segments.

  7. It really ticks me off that Cadillac is not bringing the next gen XT5 to the US. I’ve had 2 XT5s a 2017 and 2020 and loved then both but switched to the XT6 this time for the extra room and the Captain’s Chairs in the 2nd row, I like the XT6 even better than the XT5s, but the XT5 is a great car/ SUV. I hope Cadillac doesn’t rob the US of the XT6 as it did the XT5 and the CT6. I predict that Cadillac’s “China First” business plan will eventually bite them on the ass.

  9. Long time Cadillac buyer. But why are you showing us this Made in China automobile that we can’t buy here in America you really need to remember your roots Cadillac. You redo the car best selling car in your line up for the Chinese market but we still have the same car that we had in 2017 when it came out. Same goes for my 21 XT6 same car since 2020 step up your American market game also it’s a joke that you allow your dealerships here in SWFL To put a $25000 market adjustment on there Escalades.

  11. Don’t worry everyone. All the western automotive manufacturers are being pushed out of China. Just think, GM will lose more business and then expect America to pick up the slack. Just think, we can bail them out. I bought a new Lyriq because I didn’t want an outdated XT5 or XT6. This is just criminal behavior from GM!

  13. My prediction is that Cadillac will join Pontiac and Oldsmobile in the graveyard if they don’t alter their plan of an all-EV lineup. That may work sometime in the future, but they need hybrids now!

    1. I don’t agree. I just bought a new Lyriq and it is better than an XT5. Should GM have migrated to Hybrid, then to EV. Yes, I would agree with you. They did offer both in China; imagine that!
      I was smart enough to install a solar system on my house five years ago. I’m saving $400/mth in free electricity and no gas. No oil changes, less maintenance, warranty up to 8 years. My insurance went down $60 every six months. They’re here to stay.

      1. I read that Cadillac has no plans for hybrid, and are going straight to all-EV. I like EVs and will eventually own one. I currently own a PHEV Lincoln, and love the all electric driving that I get. I just think that they will lose a bunch of market share to other companies that offer hybrid drivetrains, and that could result in extremely low sales, which could put a nail in the coffin. I hope that doesn’t happen.

        1. Mary Barra did make that hybrid statement about Cadillac. It does not apply to other vehicles, at least for now. Hybrid technology is still planned for 2027 excluding Cadillac which is about three years too late. GM is betting on foreign production and sales to prevent having to retool the manufacturing lines in the USA. If you design an engineer, a good product, you don’t have to rely on for an interest and foreign sales. However, as we all have seen, GM has slipped from number one in the world market to number six and still falling. The XT five and the XT6 are two more instances of where GM has dropped the ball. I would have bought a 2025 XT five in lieu of the lyriq I just bought, however, when I found out that the refreshed XT five was only for China, and there would be no changes in the XT six, I decided to go with a newer technology and go full EV. We’ve spent the last 20 years in China, giving them our technology, our manufacturing concepts, and the ability to excel and exceeded just as we did with Japan. We have done the same with South Korea, and they are now overriding GM products with their Hyundai, and Genesis brands. GM is tooling up manufacturing facilities for lithium ion battery technology that is already surpassed and is in development by our Asian competitors to produce and provide batteries that charge twice as fast and last twice as long. What more can I say? Who’s at fault? You’re all smart enough to answer the question yourselves. It all starts at the top!

  16. Why does GM/Cadillac give their overseas models amber turn indicators but give us blinking brake lights? Just make them a global vehicle like Tesla does. The back of the US Lyriq is ugly AF with every light blinking when you’re making a turn. Red is braking. Amber is turning. It’s really simple.

  17. I love my 2019 Cadillac Xt5 and would purchase another in 2025 but not if it’s manufactured in CHINA. That’s a hard no for me.
