First-Gen XT5

For North America, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 represents the ninth model year of the first-gen XT5, for which it receives only a handful of small changes.

Alas, the all-new, second-generation XT5 (see below) will not be making its way to North America.

Model Line

The 2025 Cadillac XT5 is offered as a compact luxury crossover SUV across the following trim levels:

  • Luxury (FWD/AWD)
  • Premium Luxury (FWD/AWD)
  • Sport (AWD)

Luxury models carry product codes 6NF26, Premium Luxury is 6NH26 and Sport models are labeled 6NJ26.

Like all first-generation units of the Cadillac XT5, the 2025 XT5 continues to ride on the GM C1 platform shared with various GM crossover SUVs.

Seating

The 2025 XT5 is offered in a single seating configuration that seats a maximum of five passengers in a 2-3 arrangement.

Standard on all trims, this setup features front bucket seats (providing seating for two), along with a 60/40 split bench seat in the second row (seating three).

Beyond 2025

We expect the 2025 model year to be the final year that the current, first-generation XT5 is produced. After that, the vehicle will be discontinued in North America, indirectly replaced by the Cadillac XT6 and the Cadillac Lyriq.

Second-Gen XT5

For China, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 represents a heavy refresh of the luxury crossover, launching its second generation.

Development of the second-gen XT5 took place predominantly in China, which will be the model’s primary market. The second-gen XT5 is not expected to make its way to the U.S. or Canada, though it’s possible that it might eventually be exported to Mexico.

The model features the same general C1 architecture, but with new sheetmetal, wider tracks, an all-new interior, and the implementation of the GM Global B electrical architecture.

The second-generation Cadillac XT5 is produced at the SAIC-GM Jinqiao Cadillac plant in Shanghai for the Chinese domestic market.
