No. 01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R Gets Special Gold Livery For Sebring: Video

So far, the only colors to decorate the Cadillac V-Series.R race cars have been the three primary colors found in the Caddy crest itself: red, blue and yellow. At Sebring this weekend, though, the No. 01 Cadillac Racing machine will break the status quo by wearing a striking gold livery, honoring the 50th anniversary of Mobil 1 motor oil.

The No. 01 V-Series.R, which will be driven by Renger van der Zande, Sebastian Bourdais and Scott Dixon during the 12 Hours of Sebring, will trade its typical yellow livery for eye-catching gold, standing out from the pack. The matte gold wrap transitions to a black gradient, creating a feeling of forward motion even while the race car is standing still, perfectly complimenting the carbon fiber spoiler and other dark accents interspersed throughout the stunning machine.

Cadillac Racing fans are also invited to visit the Cadillac exhibition at Sebring this weekend or the Cadillac Driving Experience. Here, spectators can browse the full lineup of V-Series vehicles and celebrate 20 years of the luxury marque’s high-performance sub-brand.

Last year, Cadillac Racing proved its mettle by winning at Sebring, surging past a wreck that took out several frontrunners to snatch the win. The No. 31 V-Series.R of Pipo Derani, Alexander Sims and Jack Aitken was running fourth behind the No. 10 Acura ARX-06 of Filipe Albuquerque, the No. 6 Porsche 963 of Mathieu Jaminet and the No. 7 Porsche of Felipe Nasr when the crash unfolded, eliminating several key competitors.

Albuquerque and Jaminet became mired in lapped traffic, ultimately making contact and crashing, sweeping Nasr into the wreck. This opened the door for Cadillac Racing to take the lead and flash across the line ahead of its competitors when the checkered flag dropped.

Check out the No. 01 V-Series.R being dressed in its gold livery below, and tune into the 12 Hours of Sebring at 10 a.m. EST on March 16th, 2024.
