The off-road specialists at American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) are offering high-clearance fender flares for the 2017-2022-model-year Chevy Colorado. AEV is the same aftermarket parts and accessories producer that collaborated with GM in creating the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison, the most off-road capable model variant in the Colorado lineup. The AEV high-clearance fender flares allow the fitment of 35-inch tires without requiring an extra suspension lift. To note, the current Chevy Colorado ZR2 is equipped as standard with 33-inch tires, whereas the current Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison is equipped as standard with 35-inch tires.
The AEV high-clearance fender flares are produced in the U.S. using UV-resistant ABS plastic and include integrated LED market lights in front and rear. The aftermarket company offers standard ZR2- and ZR2 Bison-specific kits and a custom closeout panel for integration with the OE wheel liners.
AEV states that the Colorado ZR2 and ZR2 Bison fender flares are only compatible with Crew Cab / Short Bed models and that AEV wheels or wheel spacers are required. In addition, the company states that a one-inch front leveling kit is necessary to maximize tire clearance and achieve a level vehicle stance.
Pricing starts at $742, per the AEV website. The website also offers installation guides, as well as a how-to installation video, included below:
As a reminder, the 2022 Chevy Colorado ZR2 offered two engine options, specifically the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LGZ gasoline engine, rated at 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque, and the 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The gasoline engine is mated to the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, whereas the diesel is connected to the GM six-speed automatic transmission. Production took place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

How about the Silverado ZR2? Huge design failure not being able to fit bigger tires for a truck that is designed to be used offroad.
I second that comment. As a silverado zr2 owner we need these flares on the silverado to easily fit 35s or even 37s
