Chopped 1971 K5 Chevy Blazer Convertible Is Truly Next Level: Video

The more ambitious the build, more skillful the builder has to be to pull it off. This 1971 K5 Chevy Blazer Convertible has to be one of the more ambitious builds out there, and amazingly, it simply works, showing off a wild chopped body and no shortage of meticulous detail. Indeed, the builder truly went above and beyond with this one, as seen in the following feature video.

A custom K5 Chevy Blazer convertible.

Once again coming to us from AutotopiaLA, the video is 22 minutes and 25 seconds long and includes a walkaround and specs, as well as some action of the custom Chevy Blazer actually driving on the street.

As the story goes, this Chevy Blazer started as a project car with airbags and a primer paint finish before it was sold to a new owner that had a more ambitious plan for it. The new customization started with fresh bodywork, with a flushed A-pillar, raked windshield, and one-piece cowl. The beltline was also lowered in order to match the level of the bed.

The dash is fully custom as well, with new components fully wrapping around the cabin space. Incredibly, all the work is done in metal, with no fiberglass used in the finely crafted custom lines. A total of four seats accommodate passengers.

The body was dropped 3.5 inches, and the whole thing sits ridiculously low, even with the new seats. The tailgate is gone, while a set of Oldsmobile taillights were installed low in the rear. In the corners, this 1971 K5 Chevy Blazer Convertible now rides on custom kompression wheels designed specifically for this application. The wheel design takes after that IROC-Z Chevy Camaro, and incorporates a split five-spoke layout with a polished finish. The wheel sizing is set at 24 inches by 12 inches in the rear, while up front, the rollers are 21 inches by 8.5 inches.

Under the hood, this custom Chevy Blazer draws motivation from a 572 Big Block V8 Chevy crate engine. Output is rated around for 650 horsepower.

Indeed, this custom Chevy Blazer is a no-expense-spared example of what can be done with custom metalwork. Check it out in the video below:
